Overview
The Regency i3000R is the rectangular-door version of Regency’s new i3000 Alterra Pro, a large hybrid wood insert built to reclaim the heat an open masonry fireplace throws away. It slides into your existing fireplace and uses a triple-burn hybrid system, a catalytic bypass paired with a digital catalyst temperature monitor, to burn each load in stages for longer, cleaner, more even fires. Behind its edge-to-edge frameless glass door, a 2.75 cubic foot firebox takes logs up to 20 inches and delivers up to 85,000 BTU, enough to heat as much as 2,600 square feet through a New England winter. At 78 percent efficiency (HHV) and just 0.95 grams per hour, it also qualifies for the federal biomass tax credit. Installation and what is involved
A fireplace insert needs more than a fireplace. The i3000R vents through a continuous stainless steel liner run up your existing chimney, and that chimney should be inspected, and repaired if needed, before installation. On Duty handles the whole process, from camera inspection to liner installation to final setup and testing, so the unit performs and vents the way it should.

Will the i3000R fit my fireplace?
The i3000R needs a fireplace opening of about 32 inches wide, 24 inches high, and 21 inches deep with a standard faceplate. Surround options can bring the required width and depth down to about 30-1/2 inches wide and 19 inches deep. We measure your fireplace before you buy so you know it fits.
What is the difference between the i3000R and the i3000A?
Only the door and faceplate styling. The i3000R has a rectangular door and the i3000A has an arched door. The firebox, output, and performance are the same, so it comes down to the look you want.
How large a space will it heat?
The i3000R is rated up to 85,000 BTU and can heat as much as 2,600 square feet. Real-world performance depends on your home’s layout, insulation, climate, and the wood you burn, and we are glad to help match the unit to your space.
Does the i3000R qualify for the wood-stove tax credit?
Yes. At 78 percent HHV efficiency it clears the 75 percent threshold for the federal biomass tax credit. Ask us and your tax advisor for the current credit amount and how to claim it, since the program can change year to year.
Do I need a chimney liner?
Yes. A wood insert vents through a continuous stainless steel liner run up your chimney. We inspect the chimney, install the correct liner, and test the system as part of the job.
